トロントのダウンタウンにある博物館 Gardiner Museum in Toronto Downtown

Bay station から徒歩１分の場所にある「Gardiner Museum(HP)」
https://www.gardinermuseum.on.ca/平日の昼過ぎに訪れると人気もまばらで、博物館特有の凛とした空気の中で静かな時を過ごす事ができました。
内容は、食器類や置物などが主で、ヨーロッパや中国の古い食器、２階には日本のお皿も一部で展示されていました。
こじんまりとした館内、よほど食器に興味が無い限り、あまり見るものは無いかな？という個人的な感想・・。でも、もちろん、素敵なものばかりで、わかる人にはとても興味深いと思います。
見る限り、或る程度お年を召した方に好まれているようでした。
３階のレストランは打って変わって大勢のお客さんで賑わいを見せていました。
上品な婦人やドレスアップしたカップルなど、ランチを楽しんでいる様子が素敵でした。
道を隔てた向こうにそびえたつ大きな博物館「Royal Ontario Museum」のような見応えはないかもしれないけど、余力があれば足を伸ばしてみても良いかも。

There is no parking lot in the museum, so use the paid lot or street parking.(博物館には駐車場がありませんので、有料駐車場または路上駐車をご利用ください。)
I visited “Gardiner Museum"on Tuesday afternoon. I was not aware of this museum because I was paying attention to the big museum"Royal Ontario Museum" across the street when I pass through this area.The lady at the frontdesk kindly explained to us about the museum. There was a small number of people enjoying the exhibit in contrast to many people having time in the restaurant located on the third floor. To tell the truth, I didn’t have high expectations of this small museum (at least, smaller than ROM across the street), but I would say it is worth visiting if you adore pottery.
There is a small gift shop at the entrance, and several events. And you or your children can also join the programs, such as adult clay classes, kids clay classes, or drop-in clay classes.
